We have had numerous email inquiries on the Cross Controversy in Frankenmuth. Basically, 4 years ago a self proclaimed board member of the ACLU decided to retire to the Christian community of Frankenmuth. Founded by Lutherans almost 200 years ago, today we have churches of many different faiths. All are welcomed. Lloyd Clarke spotted two little crosses on the bridge over the Cass River that had been there for years. He objected, the city manager removed them. Then Mr. Clarke said he would try to have the Lutheran Cross removed from the cities shield. In the many countries including Canada and the UK they are now ruled by hate laws designed to stifle Christians. In those countries it is a criminal offense for even a pastor to repeat the claim of New Testament "hate literature" that the Jews had Christ crucified or that homosexuality is wrong. For years one party has been trying to pass the ADL, APIC backed bill, "Hate Speech Legislation" It has fail repeatedly, but only narrowly. Now in an end run our own State Department has started the Office of Global Anti-Semitism, that protects one religion while the courts work to destroy Christianity. For more information go to www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/102406.htm#_Toc174854639 Stand up to the tyrants to what you believe in before it's too late because even if you a Buddhist, Muslim etc, how long will it be until your rights are taken away. It should be FREEDOM OF RELIGION, not FREEDOM FROM RELIGION as the ACLU would like. Mr. Clarke may be legally correct, but is that the same as morally correct?
